Huajian Company's Tent Inspection Process
1 Quantity counting & Drawing Cartons
Key Points:
1) If the number of cartons is particularly large, it is essential to check every location where the cartons are placed during counting to prevent the factory from substituting with empty boxes, products of other styles, defective goods, etc.
2) Carton selection must be random, with boxes drawn from every position in the stack—top, middle, bottom, and all four corners. This prevents factory fraud and ensures the sample is representative, reducing risks from uneven sampling.
3) During carton selection, do it yourself to avoid any potential cheating by the factory.
4) Supervise the factory's actions closely when moving boxes to prevent substitution.
2 Outer carton check
1) Outer carton specifications: Length x Width x Height; check if they meet customer requirements.
2) Is sealing done with transparent tape or paper tape as per customer requirements? Is reinforcement with Nylon band needed on the outside?
3) Check if the carton thickness and corrugation meet customer requirements, and if the carton quality meets standards.
4) Check if staples are used to secure the cartons.
3 Shipping mark
1) Check printing and labels (Shipping printing & Shipping label check) to ensure they match customer requirements or actual conditions, such as Style No., PO no., etc. Verify if the printed carton specifications match the actual measured dimensions and weight.
2) Is the barcode readable? Does the scanned information match customer requirements? Is the barcode format correct?
4 Inner box check
1) Check if the inner box specifications meet requirements and are suitable for product packaging.
2) Check if the inner box quality provides adequate protection and if the sealing tape meets customer requirements.
5 Marking check
1) Check if the printing is correct and if the colors match the color card or reference sample.
2) Check if the labels match customer requirements and if the information is accurate.
3) Check if the barcode is readable, if the scanned data is correct, and if the barcode format is accurate.
4) Check for any damage or blurriness in the barcode.
6 Individual packing/Inner packing
1) Carefully inspect the packaging method and materials to ensure they meet customer requirements.
2) Check if the quantity packed in the inner box is correct, matches the outer carton marking, and complies with customer requirements.
3) Check if the barcode is readable, if the scanned data is correct, and if the barcode format is accurate.
4) Check if the printing and labels on the polybag are correct and match customer requirements.
5) Check if the labels on the product are correct and undamaged.
7 Parts
1) Verify the actual packaging against the list of parts in the product manual, including styles and quantities.
2) Check if all parts are complete, if the styles are correct, and if the quantities match the manual.
8 Assembly
1) The inspector must perform the product assembly themselves. For more difficult tasks, factory assistance may be requested, but the process must be controlled by the inspector.
2) Check if the connections between major components, major components and parts, and parts themselves are appropriate and smooth. Ensure no bending, deformation, or cracking occurs during assembly.
3) After assembly, check if the connections are secure, if the product is stable overall, and if there is any wobbling.
4) Product assembly must follow standard S-3 or any special customer requirements.
9 Style, Material & color check
1) Compare with the reference sample or customer specifications to check if the product's style, material, and color are consistent.
2) Check if the basic structure of the product matches the reference sample.
3) Check if the tube diameter, thickness, material, and outer coating match the reference sample.
4) Check if the fabric structure, hand feel, and color match the reference sample.
5) Check if the stitching工艺 of the textile fabric and accessories matches the reference sample or specifications.
Zipper finishing process: The reference sample folds the tail of the zipper and wraps it with fabric edge to prevent the zipper pull from falling off when fully opened. However, the product does not fold the tail, making the zipper pull prone to falling off.
6) Comparison
Stitching process comparison
The reference sample wraps the mesh with PE first and then uses single stitches for sewing, while the product does not wrap the mesh with PE and instead uses double stitches directly.
10 Size measurement
1) Overall product dimensions: Length x Width x Height
2) Tube length, diameter, and thickness
Instruments required: Steel tape measure and vernier caliper or micrometer
11 Workmanship check
1) First, inspect the assembled tents (typically 3-5 samples as per standard) for any irregularities or deformities.
2) Check the fabric quality on the outside of the tent for holes, broken yarns, coarse yarns, double yarns, wear, permanent creases, dirt, etc.
3) Get close to the tent and check the stitching quality for broken threads, burst seams, skipped stitches, poor connections, wrinkles, crooked stitches, or stitches falling into gaps.
4) At the tent entrance, check the zipper for smooth operation, if the zipper pull falls off, and if it functions properly.
5) Enter the tent and check the support tubes for cracks, deformation, bending, paint peeling, scratches, abrasions, rust, etc.
6) Then perform the same checks on unassembled tents: first, count the parts, then inspect the main components, tube quality, fabric quality, accessory quality, etc.
12 On-site functional testing
1) Tent opening and closing test: Perform at least 10 opening and closing cycles to check the support frame's load-bearing capacity and the firmness of connection points.
2) Opening and closing test for accessories: Perform 10 cycles for accessories with zippers, safety buckles, etc.
3) Tensile test for fasteners: Conduct a tensile test on the tent fasteners to check bonding strength and firmness, typically applying a force of 200N.
4) Flame retardancy test for tent fabric: Perform a flame retardancy test on the tent fabric when conditions permit.
Test method: Vertical burning test:
(1) Mount the sample on the sample holder and hang it in the test chamber, with the lowest point of the sample 20mm above the top of the flame source.
(2) Adjust the flame height to 38mm (±3mm) (using methane as the test gas).
(3) Start the instrument, move the flame directly under the sample, burn for 12 seconds, then remove the flame and record the after-flame time.
(4) After all combustion ceases, remove the sample and measure the damaged length.
